In Uganda, students at Makerere University’s faculty of technology have tested an electric car. Appropriately painted green to demonstrate its environmental credentials, the electric car can reach speeds of up to 60 miles per hour. It also runs for three to four hours before it needs to be recharged. Students say the prototype costs around 000. However, engineers say that the cost could be brought down to as little as 000 per unit once it is mass produced.
