A time period in which technology changed art?

Posted by sandman49

I am supposed to pick a civilization and discuss how all the arts evolved over time and how it was influenced by tools and technology from that time period. I have tried many key words in Google with no such luck, or linking to sites that you need to pay for to use their "trial" version. I have a few ideas, but finding a civilization that had ALL their arts change by technology is near impossible in my mind; this would include visual arts, architecture, literature and music.

Any ideas?

Sanskrit Language: The Most Scientific, Ancient, Spiritual – 1

Posted by sandman49

Video Download: rapidshare.com Thinking Allowed – Sanskrit Tradition Duration: 23:28 Taken: 04 June 2006 Location: Israel Prof. Dean Brown points out that most European languages can be traced back to a root language that is also related to Sanskrit – the sacred language of the ancient Vedic Hindu religions of India. Many English words actually have Sanskrit origins. Similarly, many Vedic religious concepts can also be found in Western culture. He discusses the fundamental idea of the Upanishads – that the essence of each individual, the atman, is identical to the whole universe, the principle of brahman. In this sense, the polytheistic traditions of India can be said to be monistic at their very core.

Can there come a time where new technology stops?

Posted by sandman49

With everything getting more technologically advanced every day, and considering we have come such a long way with technology, could there ever come a time where new technology stops, and we meet a point where it is too advanced to make progress?

And this is considering that a catastrophic event doesn’t occur and wipe out current civilization, bring us back thousands of years.

I am guessing it will probably never end, but I would like to hear your opinions.

John Searl on New Energy Science part 1 of 12

Posted by sandman49

Description taken from www.coasttocoastam.com Filmmaker Bradley Lockerman and the “Godfather of Free Energy” Professor John Searl discussed Searl’s invention of a magnetic generator and how he believes the device could save our planet from economic and environmental disaster. “Scientists are ‘yesterday people,’” Searl declared, “but inventors are a special group of people who see the future and they bring the future out into reality.” Lockerman, who has been investigating Searl’s research since 1994, called the inventor’s tale “the wildest story I’ve ever heard in my life.” Recounting his remarkable story, Searl detailed how he first conceived of the device via a series of recurring dreams. Years later, he assembled the early prototypes of the invention and saw that it mysteriously floated, non-stop, upwards. Eventually, Searl managed to develop a means of controlling the device. It was during this time that sightings of his experiments in England were dubbed ‘UFOs’ by an unsuspecting public as well as the newspapers who knew of his work but desired to keep it under wraps. Should the technology ultimately be used to create a vehicle, he claimed that it could travel from London to New York in 15 minutes and a trip to the moon or the ISS would be the equivalent of “a bus ride.” On why the device has yet to be harnessed by companies or governments, Searl explained that one issue surrounds ownership of the creation because “once they see it, they want to own it.” As such

Edgar Cayce & The Universe part 1/12

Posted by sandman49

PLAYLIST: www.youtube.com 16 January 2008 Astronomy writer James Mullaney discussed his book Edgar Cayce and the Cosmos, which examines the “Sleeping Prophet’s” readings about the universe. As a scientist, he was initially skeptical about the Cayce material (which was delivered in a trance state), but upon study, he was won over by its accuracy and insights. Some highlights he presented from Cayce’s readings: # Someone in antiquity had a telescope, but it was found rather than built by that person’s civilization. # There is no life like ours in the solar system, but there are other beings/civilizations elsewhere in the universe. # The stars and planets do not govern our future. # In a sense, sunspots are caused by the turmoil of the human race. Cayce, who died in 1945 and often spoke of past lives in his readings, may have reincarnated on another world, Mullaney suggested. Cayce’s entire 14306 readings are available on a searchable CD-ROM, which Mullaney said he used in his research.
